FESTIVAL FILOSOFI LUNGO L'OGLIO

Il Festival Filosofi lungo l'Oglio è una manifestazione promossa dalla Fondazione Filosofi lungo l’Oglio che si svolge, dal 2006, in numerosi Comuni compresi tra le Provincie di Brescia, Bergamo e Cremona, nei mesi di giugno e luglio. Ogni anno viene scelto un tema attorno al quale chiamare a discutere le figure più eminenti del pensiero contemporaneo. Di edizione in edizione si è assistito ad un incremento delle lezioni magistrali offerte ad un pubblico sensibile e in costante aumento. La specificità che caratterizza questo Festival risiede nella peculiarità del suo format: non una tre giorni in cui concentrare gli appuntamenti, ma un arco di tempo che supera i 40 giorni, e che sembra fare proprio il tempo lento della provincia. Tempo prezioso in cui ascoltare le lezioni magistrali dei pensatori – tutte ad ingresso libero – , confrontarsi nei dibattiti che seguono gli incontri e, se così si può dire, far fruttare il tempo che separa un intervento dall'altro, per lasciare spazio all'antica ruminatio. Al ritmo temporale segue l'articolarsi «spaziale» del Festival: tra piazze, castelli, dimore signorili, cascine, sinagoghe, chiese, auditorium, teatri è il pensiero stesso a farsi nomade seguendo, idealmente, il percorso del Fiume Oglio, quasi si trattasse di un Vegliardo depositario di vetuste tradizioni che, nel ricordarci l'appartenenza alle nostre origini – una evocazione che si fa materia nella terra che esso stesso attraversa, separa, unisce, feconda, alimenta nelle opere e nei giorni di chi la coltiva – , ci chiedesse di fare memoria di quella fatica di cui è testimone, tramutandola nella fatica del pensiero. Fatica non meno ardua, ma che nella complessità del mondo in cui abitiamo sembra quasi un imperativo, una sfida da raccogliere. Da condividere. Da sostenere. E così ogni anno, dinnanzi al «Vegliardo», si recano illustri studiosi attorno ai quali fanno cerchio uomini e donne di buona volontà, capaci di «decidersi» nel-dare-senso-al-loro-tempo, sempre più ridotto da impegni professionali e familiari, ma non per questo insufficiente per prestare ascolto e ricorrere alla propria capacità critica nella partecipazione attiva alle lezioni. Si ha «fame» di contenuti, si avverte la necessità di incamminarsi sulla strada del Maestro. Si esprime un «bisogno» che connota la nostra stessa umanità e che non si accontenta di essere anestetizzato da proposte e format per lo più seriali, asettici, liquidi come la nostra società, direbbe Zygmunt Bauman. Il Festival, che negli ultimi anni si è sempre pregiato dell'Alto Patronato del Presidente della Repubblica, si avvale di un Comitato scientifico così costituito: Ilario Bertoletti, Bernhard Casper, Piero Coda, Adriano Fabris, Amos Luzzatto, Aldo Magris, David Meghnagi, Salvatore Natoli, Maria Rita Parsi, Armando Savignano e Francesca Nodari, che è il direttore scientifico del Festival. Nel corso della varie edizioni sono stati ospitati studiosi del calibro di Marc Augé, Paolo Becchi, Remo Bodei, Edoardo Boncinelli, Bernhard Casper, Piero Coda, Paolo De Benedetti, Roberta De Monticelli, Duccio Demetrio, Massimo Donà, Adriano Fabris, Franco La Cecla, Francesco Miano, Armando Savignano, Chiara Saraceno, Francesca Rigotti, Giovanni Ghiselli, Massimo Giuliani, Sergio Givone, Giuseppe Laras, Amos Luzzatto, Aldo Magris, Vito Mancuso, Michela Marzano, Armando Massarenti, Jean-Luc Nancy, Salvatore Natoli, Maria Rita Parsi – rispettivamente padrino e madrina di questo Simposio di Pensiero e di Parole – Elena Pulcini, Stefano Semplici, Eberhard Schockenhoff, Andrea Tagliapietra, Marco Vannini, Luigi Zoja. A partire dalla settima edizione, il Festival ha registrato due importanti novità: l'istituzione del Premio Internazionale di Filosofia/Filosofi lungo l'Oglio. Un libro per il presente. Una benemerenza che è assegnata all'opera di uno studioso che abbia elaborato, attraverso il suo pensiero, idee capaci di fornire agili strumenti per abitare la nostra contemporaneità. Un'opera, dunque, che sia in grado di segnare, non soltanto la storia della filosofia, ma la realtà effettuale in cui ogni uomo si trova a vivere nel qui e ora dei nostri giorni. Come da Statuto, il Premio è attribuito su giudizio insindacabile della Commissione giudicatrice composta dai Professori: Ilario Bertoletti, Adriano Fabris (Presidente), Azzolino Chiappini, Amos Luzzatto, Aldo Magris, Salvatore Natoli, Maria Rita Parsi e Francesca Nodari. Di qui l’affinarsi della mission della manifestazione che si articola su una doppia linea direttrice fondamentale: l’alta divulgazione attraverso le lezioni magistrali, che costituiscono il cuore della Kermesse; l’attivazione del Premio che rinviene la sua peculiarità nel legare il prestigioso riconoscimento ad un’opera particolarmente significativa per la nostra contemporaneità e il suo valore aggiunto nell’avvicinare sempre più la filosofia alla vita delle persone e insieme nel sollecitare la lettura di testi che, per il rilievo delle tesi sostenute e la tensione propositiva che le anima, sono da considerarsi dei classici del pensiero della nostra era.

THE CHALLENGE OF THE OGLIO PHILOSOPHERS' FESTIVAL

The Oglio Philosophers’ Festival is an event promoted by the Oglio Philosophers’ Foundation, which since 2006 has taken place in numerous municipalities in the provinces of Brescia, Bergamo and Cremona, in the months of June and July. Each year a theme is chosen, around which the most eminent figures of contemporary thought are invited to base their discussions. Each edition has seen a rise in the number of lectures offered to a receptive and increasingly large public audience. The specific trait that characterizes this festival is the unusual nature of its format: it is not concentrated into a three-day event, but spans a period of over 40 days, a quality that reflects the unhurried pace of the province itself. This is valuable time, during which the public can listen to the lectures – all with free admission – of thinkers engaged in debates that follow the meetings and, so to say, make the most of the time between one appointment and another, to make room for the ancient art of ruminatio. The “spatial” design of the Festival is in harmony with its temporal rhythm: in the squares, castles, stately homes, farms, synagogues, churches, auditoriums and theatres there is a sense of nomadic wandering, following, ideally, the path of the River Oglio, as if it were an Old Man depositary for obsolete traditions that, while reminding us of our origins - an evocation that materialises in the land itself that it crosses, separates, combines, fertilizes and feeds with the work and days of those who cultivate it -, also asks us to remember that effort that it bears witness to, turning it into the effort of thought. An effort that is no less arduous, but that, in the complexity of the world we inhabit, seems almost an imperative, a challenge to be met. To be shared. To be sustained. And so every year, the venerable “Old Man” is surrounded by illustrious scholars, around which good-willed men and women gather, to “decide” to make-sense-of-their-time, ever more at the mercy of professional and family commitments, but nevertheless able to listen and employ their critical faculties to actively participate in the lessons. They are “hungry” for content; there is a need to travel down the road of the Master. There is a “need that characterizes our own humanity and that is not content with being anesthetized by mostly serial proposals and formats, which are septic, and fluid like our society. These would be the words of Zygmunt Bauman. The Festival, which in recent years has always been honoured by the patronage of the President of the Republic, is supported by a scientific committee made up as follows: Ilario Bertoletti, Bernhard Casper, Piero Coda, Adriano Fabris, Amos Luzzatto, Aldo Magris, David Meghnagi, Salvatore Natoli, Maria Rita Parsi, Armando Savignano and Francesca Nodari, who is the scientific director of the Festival. As of the seventh edition, the Festival has recorded two important innovations: the establishment of the International Philosophy Prize / Oglio Philosophers. A book for the present. This merit is assigned to the work of a scholar who has developed, through his thoughts, ideas capable of providing responsive tools for our contemporary situation. A work, therefore, that is able to mark not only the history of philosophy, but also the current reality in which every man lives, in the here and now of our days. In accordance with the Statute, the Prize is awarded with incontestable judgment of the jury composed of Professors: Ilario Bertoletti, Adriano Fabris (Chairman), Azzolino Chiappini, Amos Luzzatto, Aldo Magris, Salvatore Natoli, Maria Rita Parsi and Francesca Nodari. From here, the refinement of the event’s mission is divided into a fundamental double line: the high dissemination through lectures, which are at the heart of the event; and the launch of the Prize that is unique in tying the prestigious award to a work of particular significance to our contemporary world, and its added value in bringing philosophy ever closer to people's lives, while together urging the reading of texts which, due to the import of the arguments put forward and the propositional tension that animates them, are considered classics of the thought of our era.
